July school holiday program offers something for all interests
Published on 05 June 2018
Mildura Rural City Council has a host of exciting and enjoyable activities planned for students aged 12 to 16 during the upcoming July school holidays.
Facilitated from the Mildura Scout Hall at 39 Twelfth Street, activities are either free or low-cost and cover a diverse range of interests.
They include Masterchef, where participants can learn to cook a meal and dessert from scratch, self defence classes, 10-pin bowling, Rollerama and even a day on the water fishing.
Many popular favourites will also be making their return, including Laserforce, Movie and Pizza Day, and a hip-hop dance workshop.
Lunch and morning tea are provided at most activities.
Councillor for Community Wellbeing and Services Min Poole said Council’s school holiday activities were about much more than simply giving young people something to do.
“The diverse range of activities planned by our Youth Services team are designed to impact positively on our young people, teaching them new skills, building knowledge and helping them develop support networks among their peers,” Cr Poole.
“Of course, they’re a lot of fun as well!”
The July school holiday program is funded by Council and the Victorian Government’s Engage program and runs from Monday 2 July until Friday 13 July.
Registrations are now open and close on Friday 22 June at 5pm.
Registration forms and activity flyers are available by contacting Council’s Customer Service Centre on (03) 5018 8100, emailing youthservices@mildura.vic.gov.au or visiting www.mildura.vic.gov.au/youth.
