FAQs
How does the Kerbside Recycling Rewards program work?
The program will focus on the organics, recycling and glass streams from residential collections.
Our Waste team will conduct visual inspections of residential bins in a selected area just prior to collection. We’ll be looking at the top of the bin, with no physical contact to be made to any of the waste to protect the health and safety of the inspecting officer(s).
Council will post which areas have been selected to take part in inspections on our website and social media prior.
Depending on the outcome of the inspection, a sticker will be put on the bin informing the resident on if they did or didn’t have contamination in the bin.
What will we focus on?
For the first round we will focus on the following:
Recycling
- Bagged rubbish and recycling
- Soft plastics
Organics
Glass
- Non-eligible items
