2022 Corroboree
Mildura Rural City Council, in partnership with the Yuranga Local Aboriginal Network and Council’s Ngiwa Yarna (Aboriginal Action) Committee, hosted the annual NAIDOC Corroborree Community Event on Saturday 16 April 2022.
This event returned to Nowingi Place, and centred on a Corroboree (a traditional Aboriginal dance ceremony). The event also included cultural workshops, stalls, entertainment and food.

Mildura Anti-Racism Community Yarning Circle with Stan Grant
In the lead up to the Mildura Corroboree, the Mildura Sporting Precinct hosted a special Yarning Circle event on Wednesday 6 April.
The Mildura Anti-Racism Community Yarning Circle informed the community on racism and how to address it, building capacity and increasing awareness of people’s rights. Local Aboriginal and culturally linguistically diverse people formed a panel that share personal experiences with racism, with the panel also discussing how we can address racism at a local level.
The panel was led by multi-award winning current affairs host, and author Stan Grant, who also delivered the keynote speech. Watch Stan's speech below:
