St Joseph's Primary School Red Cliffs

St Joseph's Primary School Red Cliffs has been a valued part of the Red Cliffs Community since 1933. Originally staffed by the Sisters of Mercy, our school continues the Mercy traditions of compassion, hospitality, respect, innovation, stewardship and teamwork and continues as a vibrant, innovative Catholic educational community striving to provide a school environment filled with hope, passion, fun and excellence in learning.

St Joseph’s engages the students in innovative, evidence based and research validated teaching and interventions in Literacy. We have adopted a Structured Literacy approach to teaching reading which ensures that all students are provided with what they need to be successful. While we have a strong focus on Literacy, Numeracy, Religious Education and Social Emotional Learning we also teach all other areas of the curriculum, with specialist lessons in the Performing Arts, Physical Education and Languages Other Than English-Italian. Science, History and Geography are taught through the Inquisitive approach ensuring students learn with purpose, engagement and depth. St Joseph’s has a highly qualified and experienced Wellbeing team. Maintaining student, staff and community well-being is a key part of our mission and something we work hard to achieve.
