Ted Lawton Photographic Collection

Ted Lawton (dec.) was a local identity, photographer and scientist.

He studied chemistry in Melbourne, and in 1947 commenced work at the Commonwealth Research Station at Merbein as a laboratory assistant. Later, Ted became a full-time photographer at the CSIRO, and obtained his qualifications as a Biological Photographic Associate in North America. He held this position for more than 40 years. Ted was also involved in a number of community organisations. He was a founding member of the Mildura Historical Society and a life member of the Field Naturalists Club.

The Ted Lawton Collection is an archive of photos which includes local floods, buildings, paddleboats and other river topics, events and landscapes.
