A whimsical world where amazing ideas are expressed in extraordinary ways…

Inspired by three of the most loved books by Stephen Michael King (Henry and Amy, Emily Loves to Bounce and Patricia) Mildura Arts Centre will present the critically acclaimed Patch Theatre Company’s Emily Loves to Bounce on Tuesday, 27 June.

In this highly visual theatre show, incorporating evocative design, superb music and just a little ‘theatre magic’, family audiences will follow carefree Henry, practical Amy and a ball named Emily as they turn the world upside down and right way round, learning that working together in spite of their differences brings out the best in everyone.

Mildura Rural City Councillor for Arts and Culture Jason Modica said the production has plenty of humour, wonderful music and a colourful set where balls and boxes take on a life of their own.

Emily Loves to Bounce is about forming friendships and learning how to get along with each other - so it’s best seen as a family or in a group of playmates,” Cr Modica said.

“It’s a stunning and delightful production aimed at children aged four to eight-years-old.

Patch Theatre Company is Australia’s only national theatre company dedicated to making theatre for four to eight-year-olds.

Over its 44-year history the company has performed to over 1.7 million children and their families, both nationally and internationally, including seasons in the US, Singapore and Canada.
