Celebrate Australia Day at Nowingi Place
Published on 20 January 2025
Locals are encouraged to grab their picnic rugs or chairs and join family, friends and the community for a morning of Australia Day celebrations along Mildura’s riverfront.
The event will start from 8am at Nowingi Place, Hugh King Drive on Sunday 26 January with a free Lions Club breakfast and coffee available, plus live music from local duo Soul Brothers.
Council will also announce the winners of the annual Australia Day Awards across three categories - Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Event/Project of the Year.
Mildura Mayor Helen Healy encouraged residents to come together and reflect on what it means to be part of our vibrant community.
“Our annual Australia Day event is a great chance for our community to get together to enjoy a free coffee, barbecue breakfast and live entertainment, all while celebrating and acknowledging our local heroes,” Cr Healy said.
Cr Healy said the unveiling of the annual Australia Day Award winners is one of many highlights of the event.
“Council’s annual Australia Day Awards shine a spotlight on the outstanding individuals and groups who make a real difference in our region.
