Council’s 2019-2023 Draft Rating Strategy now out for public comment

Sunraysia residents have a chance to help shape the way their rates will be collected in the coming four years following the release of our 2019-2023 Draft Rating Strategy.

The draft strategy was endorsed by Councillors at last night’s Ordinary Council Meeting and is now out for public comment.

It sets out how Council will raise revenue from rateable properties within the Mildura Rural City Council area and contains three key components:

  • Removing the $100 municipal charge
  • Reducing the farm differential rate from 95 per cent to 76 per cent (both irrigated and dryland farming properties)
  • Retaining the 120 per cent differential rate for business properties

Copies of the 2019-2023 Draft Rating Strategy are now available on our website at www.mildura.vic.gov.au/HaveYourSay, or in hard copy at any of our service centres.
