Feedback to inform Irymple Low Density Residential Develop Plan
Published on 25 March 2024
Mildura Rural City Council is seeking feedback to help inform the Irymple Low Density Residential Development Plan.
A Draft Issues and Opportunities Paper, the first step in preparing the Development Plan, is now ready for public comment.
Once complete, the Development Plan will guide the design of future subdivisions, ensuring they include well-connected roads and pedestrian access, open space and drainage. It will cover more than 35 properties south of Fifteenth Street, generally between Benetook and Sandilong Avenues.
Councillor for Infrastructure and Assets Glenn Milne said the first stage in preparing the Development Plan is identifying and detailing planning issues and opportunities within the study area.
“Through public consultation, we want to check with the community that the information we have is up-to-date and reflective of the Irymple of today,” he said.
“We also want to understand what residents value about this area and hear your ideas about how the area should develop.”
Cr Milne said the Draft Issues and Opportunities Paper had been developed in accordance with five broad themes:
- Land use
- Urban form, built form and heritage
- Drainage and servicing
- Public realm and open space
- Access and movement
“We are looking for your feedback on the Paper’s findings, sharing your local knowledge and letting us know if we have accurately captured issues, areas of concerns and opportunities,” he said.
“This will help us better respond to known issues or opportunities we have not yet considered.”
Council’s Strategic Planning team will also be available at a Community Drop-In session planned for Monday 15 April 2024 from 4.30pm to 7.30pm at the Irymple Leisure Centre.
Those interested can nominate a 30-minute timeslot to speak directly with staff via strategic.planning@mildura.vic.gov.au
The community can view the Draft Issues and Opportunities Paper and provide feedback by visiting yoursay.mildura.vic.gov.au/ILDRDP before Monday 22 April 2024.
