Free webinars to Take Back Control of Your Energy Bill
Published on 11 May 2020
Mildura Rural City Council and the Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance will present two free webinars this month to help residents reduce their energy bills amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Councillor for Environment and Farming Sustainability Anthony Cirillo said due to COVID-19 restrictions, many residents are spending more time at home than they normally would.
He said coupled with the onset of the cooler months of the year, this could potentially mean residents are using more household energy keeping warm, and their households running.
Dubbed Take Back Control of Your Energy Bill, the webinars are aimed at all housing types, and both renters and owner-occupiers.
Webinar 1 – Wednesday 20 May
The first webinar will focus on four simple and effective steps residents can take to make their energy bills more affordable. It will also offer information on support available for residents who may be struggling to pay their bills.
Webinar 2 – Wednesday 27 May
The second webinar will go into more detail on options residents can take to further reduce their energy bills and stay comfortable. Information will include tips on draught-proofing, insulating and appliance use. It will also touch on solar power and batteries.
The webinars will be delivered in partnership with the Consumer Policy Research Centre and Renew.
