Front of House Cabaret Series returns to MAC with Take Five

A local new jazz band will kick off the 2016 Front of House Cabaret Series at Mildura Arts Centre in early July.

Take Five is a five piece jazz band founded by pop/rock duo Iwan and Andrea Soebardi, bass player David Harris, drummer Jeff Becker and guitarist Jake Underwood.

Arts and Culture Portfolio Councillor Jill Joslyn said there is vibrant music scene in Mildura, with the Front of House Cabaret Series proudly showcasing local musicians in a laid back, club-style atmosphere.

“As Take Five, they play an eclectic set of jazz renditions crossing different genres including pop, rock, blues, Brazilian and Latin. Their playlist includes the music from well-known artists such as George Benson, Burt Bacharach, Nora Jones, Miles Davis and Dave Brubeck.

“Take Five add their jazzy touch to songs we all know and love, and will create a beautiful evening of music on a winter’s night at MAC,” Cr Joslyn said.

The foyer will be set up in cabaret style, and for advanced group bookings, each person will receive a complimentary glass of wine on arrival. Cheese and antipasto platters are available to order.
