Future Planning Forum to help residents plan for their future
Published on 22 May 2018
Murrayville residents looking for information and advice on how to plan for their senior years are invited to attend next month’s Future Planning Forum at the Murrayville Senior Citizens Club.
Mildura Rural City Councillor for Community Wellbeing and Services Min Poole said it’s important residents properly plan for their senior years, both in terms of the care they may need and the welfare of their loved ones.
“There are so many factors to take into consideration as we approach our senior years, such as the type of care you may need, and what is available in your area,” Cr Poole said.
“This could mean looking at the availability of aged care, palliative care or respite care services where you live.
“And while it’s sometimes a little unsettling to contemplate, we must also consider our loved ones by looking at the best way to manage wills and power of attorney among a range of issues.
“Our Future Planning Forum will feature service providers and experts in these areas, who can provide advice and information on future planning.”
Vision Australia will also have a wide range of technologies and tools available to help people who are blind or have low vision, while National Hearing Centre will offer hearing testing.
Council’s Future Planning Forum will be held on Tuesday, 5 June at the Murrayville Senior Citizens Club in Gray Street from 10.30am to 1pm.
