Council is asking residents, groups and boat users for their thoughts and ideas in relation to the Mildura Boat Ramp as we formulate our first Boating Precinct Master Plan.

Councillor for Economic Development and Tourism Mark Eckel said the resounding success of the first stage of the riverfront redevelopment had significantly increased usage of the precinct, including the area around the boat ramp.

“It’s great to see how much more vibrant and busy our riverfront precinct has become since the completion of the first stage of the riverfront redevelopment,” Cr Eckel said.

“With planning well under way for the exciting second stage of this precinct, we’re expecting even more progress and activity in this area.

“The Mildura Boat Ramp and surrounds are an integral part of this precinct, making it vitally important it meets residents’ and visitors’ needs and expectations, both now and into the future.”

Council is asking the community to provide its feedback on the boat ramp, covering topics including safety, usage of the site, how it could be improved and any facilities or services that could be introduced.

Residents have two ways to provide this feedback.

Surveys are now available, providing an opportunity give feedback in writing. This can be done online by visiting www.mildura.vic.gov.au/HaveYourSay or by picking up a hard copy of the survey at any of Council’s Service Centres.

Council will also hold two community consultation sessions this weekend, on Saturday 30 March and Sunday 31 March.

The Saturday session will run from 1pm to 3pm, while the Sunday session will run from 10am to 12pm. Both sessions will be at the Mildura Boat Ramp.

Council staff will be on hand at both sessions to answer any questions people may have as well take down the community’s feedback and suggestions.
