How do you want to exercise in Walnut Avenue Park?
Published on 03 May 2017
Walnut Avenue Park users have an opportunity to shape the future of the park they use for exercise and other leisure activities.
Council has plans to install new exercise equipment in the park, but needs the community’s input to ensure it meets the needs of people who use it.
A consultation session will be held on Saturday, 13 May from 9.30am to 11am, including free morning tea, to get ideas and feedback from residents in the area.
This includes the colour of exercise equipment as well as where the equipment should be placed.
Residents in the area bounded by Walnut and Ontario Avenues and Fourteenth and Fifteenth Streets in particular are encouraged to attend.
Councillor for Community Wellbeing and Services Ali Cupper urged residents to take advantage of this opportunity to have a say in the facility they use.
“This is a great opportunity for the community to shape the future direction of the facilities they use,” Cr Cupper said.
“By doing so, they’ll ensure they not only have exercise equipment that suits their needs, but the needs of future generations of well, so I’d urge residents to grab this opportunity with both hands.”
Residents unable to attend Saturday’s consultation session but who would still like to provide feedback can do so by contacting Council’s Rural Access Worker Jeni Snadden on (03) 5018 8100 or mrcc@mildura.vic.gov.au.
Residents who will be attending are asked to RSVP by 9 May.
