Sunraysia residents can help play a leading role in combatting and adapting to climate change in our region by joining the Climate Emergency Community Advisory Group.

Expressions of interest are now open to join the group, which guides and implements Council’s Community Climate Response Plan 2024-2029.

The plan features more than 30 community-owned actions across six priority areas – health, waste, farming, education, natural and urban environments.

Councillor for Environment and Sustainability Jason Modica said Council was ideally seeking expressions of interest from a very broad range of people to fill vacancies on the group.

"To help ensure a broad range of community issues are considered by the group, we're encouraging representatives spanning diverse areas and sectors across our region, from environment, business/industry and youth, through to health, social inclusion and agriculture," Cr Modica said.

Expressions of interest are open until Sunday 30 June and can be made by visiting https://forms.office.com/r/wYsSqtb5Pr
