Local acts and sunshine forecast for Twilight at MAC on Friday

Published on 16 November 2016

Twilight is on at Mildura Arts Centre this Friday with three local female musicians taking centre stage.

Twilight is a free outdoor community event on the Mildura Arts Centre lawns featuring live music from local artists and children’s activities.

From classical guitar to contemporary pop, three aspiring and very talented musicians, Willow Shortt, Chloe Niutta and Caitlin Holcroft will each play a set of music that will astound Twilight goers.

It’s the perfect opportunity for people to have a picnic with friends or family or grab something from the café. The galleries and Rio Vista Historic House are also open until 8.30pm.

Mildura Rural City Council General Manager Community Martin Hawson said Twilight was a great event for the whole community.

“This is a wonderful event that showcases emerging and established musicians that people of all ages can enjoy, and following the storm, it could be the ideal antidote to bring people together in beautiful surrounds,” Mr Hawson said.

“There will be activities to keep the kids entertained and people can wander through Rio Vista and the galleries too.”

Exhibitions are currently displayed in five gallery spaces at Mildura Arts Centre including the exhibitions Behind the Wire: Images and Stories of Vietnam Veterans by Susan Gordon-Brown and Invisible Visible by Rosina Byrne that opened last Thursday.

Twilight at Mildura Arts Centre is on from 5pm to 8:30pm on Friday 18 November.
