Mildura Rural City Council ratepayers should start receiving their 2022/23 rate notices in the mail this week, which is a timely reminder for those who may have changed address over the past 12 months to ensure their contact details are up-to-date.

“If you’ve moved or changed addresses, even if it was many months ago, and not updated your details with our staff, there’s still a chance your rate notice will be sent to your previous address,” Deputy Mayor Jason Modica said.

“By checking and ensuring your contact details are up-to-date, it will avoid any delays in receiving your rate notice, which in turn will provide you with more time to pay.”

To check if we have your latest details, please call Council’s Customer Support team on (03) 5018 8100.

This month’s rate notices will also be accompanied by residents’ latest property valuation.

Residents can elect to pay their rates in one full upfront payment or in quarterly instalments.

Full upfront payments can be made up until 15 February 2023.

Quarterly instalments can be made according to the following schedule. People using the quarterly instalment option must make their first instalment payment by Friday, 30 September 2022.

Payment 1: Friday 30 September 2022
Payment 2: Wednesday 30 November 2022
Payment 3: Tuesday 28 February 2023
Payment 4: Wednesday 31 May 2023.

Rates can be paid in person at any of Council’s Service Centres and Australia Post outlets, online, via BPAY, mail or via Centrepay for those receiving Centrelink payments.

Residents can also pay by direct debit by visiting Council’s website and filling in a direct debit request form.

Anyone experiencing financial difficulties or having trouble making rates payments should contact Council as soon as possible to discuss their circumstances and make alternative arrangements.

More information about Council rates, including direct debit request forms, is available online at mildura.vic.gov.au/Council/Rates-Valuations
