Published on 03 December 2024
The sounds of summer is coming to Mildura’s iconic Riverfront!
A new initiative by Mildura Rural City Council’s Events team, dubbed the Summer Sound Series, is set to feature live music and talented local artists at Powerhouse Place.
Running most Fridays to the end of January 2025, the series will be a chance for locals and visitors to kick-start their weekends in style with a relaxing night of music set against Mildura’s scenic riverfront.
The Friday events will run from 5.30pm to 8pm, with Shippy’s to also open from 4pm to 8pm serving food and drinks.
In addition, two Christmas-themed, family-friendly movies will also be screened inside Powerhouse Hall in December.
Elf (13 December) and How the Grinch Stole Christmas (20 December) will provide something extra for the little ones to enjoy. Movies will screen on their select nights from 6.30pm
Christmas craft activities will also be available. All children must always be accompanied by a guardian.
Mildura Mayor Cr Helen Healy encouraged the community to come down and kick off the festive season in style.
“Summer is the ideal time of the year for our region,” Cr Healy said.
“The sun is shining, the weather’s balmy, and there’s no better place to enjoy it than at Powerhouse Place on the riverfront.”
Featured artists will be revealed regularly at What’s On Mildura and on Council’s and Mildura.com social media channels in the lead up to each event.
