Water Play Park closure
Published on 30 October 2017
The Water Play Park will remain closed to the public until further notice following a non-compliant water test result.
Council closed the park on Friday afternoon after receiving the results of the non-compliant test that same afternoon.
The routine tests revealed the water quality of the park was not within the parameters set out by the Public Health and Wellbeing Regulations 2009.
We are continuing to treat the water, as well as the equipment and filters used in the operation of the park in an effort to return water quality to an acceptable level.
In the meantime, the park will remain closed until this treatment can be completed and further water samples taken and tested.
Given we need to operate the park as part of testing and treating the water, we have erected fencing as a precaution to ensure people do not use the park, which will be subject to stronger water treatment measures.
We understand the popularity of the park and apologise for the interruption, particularly with the onset of warmer weather, however we believe ensuring the public's safety should be our number one priority.
