Your chance to play a role in protecting our region's future

Sunraysia residents have an opportunity to help shape the region’s response to the climate emergency by contributing to the Community Climate Emergency Plan this month.

A partnership between Mildura Rural City Council and the Climate Emergency Community Advisory Group, the plan will feature a range of community-owned and activated climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.

Councillor for Environment and Sustainability Jason Modica said two consultation workshops would be held this month, as well as a survey, to capture the community’s ideas and priorities.

"This is a great opportunity to ensure our region's Community Climate Change Emergency Plan reflects the priorities of as many individuals and groups as possible across a broad range of topics, including business/industry, farming, natural environment, built/urban environment, waste, education and health,” Cr Modica said.

Workshops will be held on the following dates:

Tickets are limited. Residents are encouraged to only register for the workshop they are most interested in. If ticket allocations are exhausted, please email mrcc@mildura.vic.gov.au and you will be placed on a waiting list. 

Refreshments will be provided on arrival.
