Neighbourhood Safer Places (Place of Last Resort)
Neighbourhood Safer Places also known as Places of Last Resort are spaces within the municipal district that may offer some protection from radiant heat, which is the biggest killer during a bushfire. They are a place of last resort and should only be used if your Bushfire Survival Plan fails and you have nowhere else to go.
They are not meant to be used for all day relocation. There will be minimal comforts and services available, and they will offer only limited protection from smoke and embers.
Not all townships will have a Neighbourhood Safer Place, this is because specific criteria must be met and assessed by the CFA.
The following Neighbourhood Safer Places (Place of Last Resort) are available within the Mildura municipality and have been assessed by the CFA as complying with the appropriate guidelines.
