Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Vaccine

The free respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) Abrysvo vaccine is now available for eligible pregnant women.

RSV is a common virus that can cause a range of illnesses – from mild colds to severe conditions such as bronchiolitis and pneumonia.

A single dose of Abrysvo vaccine is recommended for pregnant women of all ages at 28 to 36 weeks of pregnancy to protect their infants via passive immunisation.

RSV-associated hospitalisations are currently highest in infants under six months of age, and generally declines with age from early childhood.

You are eligible to receive the free Abrysvo vaccine if:

  • You are a Medicare Care Card holder and,
  • meet the gestation requirements

Bookings are essential due to limited stock. Please contact 03 5018 8277 to book your appointment. Bookings will be prioritised by gestation – and be advised we may need to place you on a waiting list.
