Whooping Cough (Diphtheria, Tetanus & Pertussis) vaccine

Council’s immunisation service offers the Whooping Cough (Diphtheria, Tetanus & Pertussis (DTPa)) vaccine to the public. The DTPa vaccine is free for pregnant people and people under 19 years who missed their school immunisation.

For all others, a fee of $52, payable by EFTPOS on the day, applies. Anyone can receive the DTPa vaccine however it is strongly recommended for the following groups:

  • Adults working with or caring for children, especially healthcare and childcare workers in contact with infants
  • Partners of pregnant women in their third trimester
  • Parents or guardians of infants, if their infant is under 6 months of age
  • Adults 65 years of age and older

A booster dose is recommended every 10 years.

Bookings are essential and should be made online using the Central Immunisation Records Victoria (CIRV) portal, provided by the Victorian Department of Health.

Other vaccines including Flu and COVID 19 are also available at this clinic. You can select which vaccination(s) you require in the online booking system.

Workplace vaccines

Council offers a workplace vaccine program to local businesses and worksites.

Our qualified Immunisation Nurses can visit local worksites and businesses with 10 or more employees. Workplaces with under 10 employees can arrange a time for their staff to receive their vaccinations at Council’s Deakin Avenue Service Centre in Mildura.
