McEdward Street Cabarita Development Plan
Current Status
Following exhibition of the draft plan (until 31 July 2020) the McEdward Street Cabarita Development Plan was adopted by Council on 26 August 2020 (inclusive of revisions to be made). Please see the final approved plan below.
Background
The draft Development Plan was prepared by Habitat Planning for land abutting the eastern side of McEdward Street Cabarita, south of the adjacent rail line.
Mildura Planning Scheme Amendment C89 rezoned land within Cabarita to Low Density Residential Zone and applied Development Plan Overlay 5 (DPO 5) to the land. In accordance with DPO 5, the Development Plan was prepared to guide the form and conditions of future development of the land.
The Development Plan proposes 39 lots of approximately 4000sqm each and provides for public access through to a newly formatted Robertson Street as a lower level road, primarily to encourage walking along the Lake Hawthorn precinct and make connection with existing walkways.
