Round 1 Consultation - 22 October 2020 to 19 November 2020

The first stage of the Hattah Land Use Plan was to investigate and establish an appropriate vision for the future of the land comprising the Hattah Township and 174 Cootamundra Avenue Red Cliffs.  During Round 1 Consultation, Council invited Hattah residents, key Government Agencies and other interested parties to participate in a survey, with a view to capturing community values, issues and concerns for consideration in preparation of the draft plan.

Along with the survey we provided answers to some of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the project.

Comments received were assessed and  survey responses reviewed, analysed and used in preparing the first draft Hattah Land Use Plan, December 2020.

Background

Following identification of zoning anomalies in the Hattah Township and at 174 Cootamundra Avenue, Red Cliffs, Council engaged consultants GHD to prepare the Hattah Land Use Plan.

Both Hattah Township and 174 Cootamundra Avenue, Red Cliffs are recognised as zoning inconsistencies, where private land is incorrectly included in the Public Conservation and Resource Zone (PCRZ).  The PCRZ is intended to apply to public land and the zoning is otherwise consistent with the surrounding conservation land. It is important to address zoning anomalies such as this, as the planning system relies on correct zoning to provide appropriate guidance for land use and development.
