Kitchen caddy for food scraps

All properties are provided with one plastic kitchen caddy. Using your kitchen caddy is a simple way to collect food scraps while cooking. Empty these into your green food and garden organics bin when ready.

Council-supplied kitchen caddies feature a swing-top lid and carry handle. They are dishwasher-safe and can also be hand washed.

Lining your kitchen caddy

Please only line your kitchen caddy with one of these options:

  • Compostable bags. Look for the AS 4736 and/or AS 5810 certification logo to ensure it is suitable.
  • Newspaper
  • Paper towel
  • Nothing at all (your caddy is dishwasher-safe and doesn't need to be lined)

Please do NOT use:

  • Plant-based bags
  • Recycled bags
  • Degradable bags
  • Garden bags
  • Biodegradable bags
