bagMUSTER Collections
We’re proud to be a bagMUSTER collection site!
At Mildura Rural City Council, we are committed to supporting sustainability and responsible waste management.
That’s why we’ve joined the bagMUSTER program – an innovative national recycling initiative designed to reduce plastic waste in the agricultural sector.
As an official bagMUSTER collection site, the Mildura Landfill is now able to accept eligible plastic bags from farmers and growers, helping to ensure these bags are responsibly recycled and kept out of the environment.
How to recycle your bags:
- Purchase eligible bags from participating retailers: Only bags sold through participating retailers are eligible for collection through the bagMUSTER program
- Collect and store your bags: Safely store your used bags until you’re ready to bring them to our collection site
- Prepare your bags for drop-off: Before dropping off, please ensure:
- Bags are clean and empty: Shake out all residue, and make sure bags are free of contents
- Remove non-PP liners: Remove any liners or labels that are not made from polypropylene
- Roll or fold neatly: Rolling or folding the bags makes them easier to transport
- Register your bags online: Visit bagMUSTER.org.au to register the number of bags you plan to recycle and select Mildura Landfill as your collection site. Registration is required for tracking and certification
- Drop off your registered bags: Bring your bags to the Mildura Landfill collection site, along with your registration confirmation, and we’ll ensure they’re responsibly recycled
By bringing your bags to the Mildura Landfill, you’re not only protecting the environment but also supporting sustainable practices in agriculture.
