FReeZA Committee

Mildura Rural City Council’s FReeZA Committee is part of the Victorian State Government-funded initiative that gives young people aged between 12 and 24 the opportunity to deliver safe, youth friendly events. The program is a youth participation model where young people lead, plan and deliver music, cultural and recreational events for young people in their local community. 

Why should I join the FReeZA Committee?

When meeting and activities are to be held?

All meetings and activities are held outside of school hours. 

What will my role be?

  • To lead, plan and deliver music, cultural and recreational events and activities for young people
  • To commit to being available for FReeZA events and activities
  • Attend FReeZA meetings and celebrations
  • Attend relevant training or workshops
  • Team up with other Committee members for a common goal
  • Volunteering
  • Promote FReeZA activities through your networks
  • Participate in social and team building activities

How often will the meetings be?

Our preferred method is that we meet face-to-face each fortnightly. Online meetings can be made available if you are unable to attend in person each fortnight. 

What will Youth Staff do?

Mildura Rural City Council Youth Engagement Services staff will provide the following support;

  • Identify and provide relevant training
  • Provide supervision of  all members of the committee
  • Provide all resources young people need to be an active member of the committee
  • Assist with transport, if needed
  • Oversee and support the committee in all aspects of delivering music, cultural and recreational events
  • Provide written references
